About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Acquire new business relationships for Huntington and develop and deepen relationships with existing customers
  • Provide insights and guidance to business owners
  • Develop and maintain profitable Business Banking relationships with businesses with sales size of $2 MM to $100 MM and credit exposure up to $25 MM
  • Prospect new business and expand or deepen existing business relationships
  • Meet with business owners to understand needs, recommend solutions across the bank, and negotiate pricing and fees
  • Collaborate with internal partners to deliver customer solutions
  • Build and maintain an external referral network
  • Manage portfolios of varying complexity and account volume, including quarterly portfolio reviews, CAR, and collection of necessary documentation
  • Coordinate loan approvals through the Huntington Loan Center
  • Partner with branch staff and internal product partners to deliver customer solutions and generate business sales
  • Adhere to pricing discipline and credit quality standards
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of credit packages and delivery with the Huntington Loan Center and Commercial Loan Servicing department
  • Monitor maturing loans and upcoming renewals
  • Provide information and perspective to central collections and financial recovery teams for collections and credit workouts
  • Monitor daily overdrafts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 year combination of education and Business banking or commercial experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years Business Banking or Commercial experience
  • General knowledge of business banking products
  • Analytical, credit and negotiating skills
  • Direct outside financial sales and business development experience
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of bank policy, procedures, products, and services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • PC skills
  • Understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
  • Methodical approach to market activities and prospecting
  • Proven client relationship skills and ability to engage with CEOs and CFOs
  • Ability to collaborate with internal partners and resources
