About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide oversight of all aspects of the hedge accounting process, including valuation, correlation testing, internal controls and governance, accounting, and external reporting
Assist with hedge accounting research and advise internal constituencies on accounting and reporting implications for new and existing hedge accounting relationships
Assist with prospective and retrospective hedge correlation testing
Review hedge accounting documentation and facilitate review with external auditors
Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly hedge accounting results
Oversee month-end reconciliation and close processes for derivatives, escalating and resolving issues with senior management
Initiate process re-engineering and improve efficiency and IT solutions
Work on ad hoc projects involving Corporate Treasury, Corporate Risk, IT, and other groups within the Bank
Interact regularly and directly with the Treasury Controller, Accounting Policy Director, and senior management within Corporate Treasury

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
CPA or CFA required
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience with capital markets and financial products, specifically hedge accounting, correlation testing, and related hedge documentation
Minimum of 7 years of experience with financial instruments, derivative valuation, and related market impacts
Experience with a large public accounting firm and financial institutions preferred
Experience with project management and implementation of accounting processes preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and various Bloomberg Finance applications preferred
Experience preparing technical accounting written communications, financial product-related documentation, and project-management-related materials in the financial services industry preferred
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, including senior management
