About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process FHA, VA, Conventional, and Jumbo loans
  • Read, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material
  • Verify and analyze credit reports, income, assets, appraisals, title, homeowner’s insurance, and other loan documentation
  • Ensure required documentation is submitted to Underwriting using fraud and compliance tools, reviewing alerts and clearing conditions
  • Apply federal and state mortgage guidelines, rules, and regulations including RESPA, TILA, HMDA, TRID, and Reg B
  • Update fees based on preliminary Closing Disclosure, corrected documents, and loan change requests
  • Organize, upload, validate, and index documents in the image system
  • Maintain a timely and compliant pipeline of loans according to service-level agreements
  • Prioritize and monitor daily workflow to meet expected timelines
  • Contact borrowers to collect required documentation and serve as liaison among origination, underwriters, realtors, and borrowers
  • Work with Loan Officers and Personal Production Assistants to provide a timely and accurate customer experience
  • Interact with mortgage professionals to obtain information or clarify loan-file documents
  • Manage an average pipeline of loans within the assigned operations center
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated residential mortgage processing or previous experience fulfilling the roles of Processor, Loan Officer Assistant, Loan Officer, Closer, or equivalent mortgage operations position
  • Current working product knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional and other loan programs such as Jumbo, Portfolio, construction to permanent, down payment assistance and bond programs
  • Experience with automated underwriting including Fannie/Freddie (CONV/FHA/VA/RD)
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong listening and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to integrity and customer service
  • Working knowledge of federal and state guidelines, rules and regulations such as TRID and Reg B
  • Ability to analyze income and tax forms accurately and calculate income for all types of borrowers
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage procedures, processes, and documentation
  • Ability to work independently on processing various loan applications
  • Ability to prioritize in order to meet loan closing deadlines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft, mortgage, and banking applications/software
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
