About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate adherence to architecture standards and patterns
  • Oversee architecture at a program-level initiative
  • Define non-functional requirements for scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability
  • Partner with the business to identify operational and financial efficiencies
  • Analyze high-level functional requirements defined by the business
  • Provide direction and clarity for Application Architects
  • Design system integration patterns
  • Provide oversight, governance, and support for federated architecture
  • Ensure Application Architects align with solutions
  • Identify technical constraints and technical debt, recommending paths to resolution
  • Influence technology and vendor decisions
  • Design and evaluate proofs of concept and prototypes
  • Analyze and refresh architecture standards and patterns periodically
  • Support target-state architecture designs
  • Consult on technology roadmaps
  • Partner with experience owners, product development teams, business leadership, and IT leadership to develop and deliver digital solutions
  • Develop and maintain product-level roadmaps supporting business and technology strategies
  • Produce conceptual and/or logical architecture solutions, use cases, standards and pattern proposals, and non-functional requirement definitions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of professional experience in IT, preferably as an architect
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Solution Architect across multiple domains of architecture
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience as a solution architect or related work
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT preferably as an architect (preferred)
  • 1-3+ years of experience with AI models, LLMs, AI/ML, or tool automation (preferred)
  • Experience with Cloud solution enablement, preferably GCP and/or AWS
  • Experience working with SOA, microservices, and modern web application frameworks
  • Professional working experience as a developer
  • Understanding of SDLC and delivering quality code
  • Ability to apply architecture principles to Agile and Waterfall delivery
  • Proven ability to provide architecture direction on small to large sized projects/initiatives
  • Banking industry experience, including regulation and risk
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build credibility as a trusted advisor with leadership, team members, and business partners
  • Ability to problem-solve, plan, scope, and provide estimates for work effort, producing quality deliverables on time and on budget
  • Knowledge of ArchiMate Enterprise Architecture Modeling Language
  • Soft skills training or experience, participation in architecture-related courses or workshops, peer mentoring
  • Experience with TOGAF or equivalent architecture frameworks
