About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Run the day-to-day work of the Design Team
- Maintain design quality across email and SMS campaigns, ad images, GIFs, short videos, and occasional landing pages
- Review design work and provide specific, actionable feedback
- Diagnose design issues involving hierarchy, contrast, calls to action, image-to-text balance, and mobile performance
- Advise Account Managers on campaign visual requirements and challenge inadequate briefs
- Design directly when workload requires
- Maintain consistent work across client brands, niches, and visual identities
- Distribute, organise, and rebalance the team's weekly workload
- Track team capacity and ensure client account design targets are met
- Act as the first point of contact for blockers
- Run group calls and regular one-to-ones
- Collect and address team suggestions and concerns
- Mentor and onboard designers
- Connect Design with other service teams through workshops, tutorials, and documentation
- Run training and skill-building sessions
- Improve workflows, handoffs, and communication processes
- Maintain team documentation
- Monitor Figma releases and adopt useful capabilities
- Track design and email marketing trends and share relevant developments
- Bring industry best practices to the Service Director and team
- Take on projects delegated by the Service Director
- Report to the Service Director and collaborate with Account Managers and other Hustler Marketing departments
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years of experience as a graphic designer, with a minimum of 3 years in email marketing design
- Expert-level Figma skills, including building and working from component libraries
- Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite or Affinity
- Experience producing ad images, animated GIFs, and short video edits
- An established portfolio showing on-brand, effective design work for a range of clients, stores, and niches
- Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating other designers
- Ability to review design work and give written, specific, actionable feedback
- Ability to distribute and reorganise a team's weekly workload, including at short notice
- Basic understanding of web design and landing pages is a plus
- Experience with Klaviyo or a comparable email marketing platform is a plus
- Comfortable with Slack, Asana, Hubstaff, Google Workspace, and Figma
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Remote work experience, ideally with a team spread across time zones
- Available and responsive Monday to Friday between 3 and 6 PM Barcelona time
- Consistently working 30 to 35 hours per week, or 140 hours per month
- Stable internet connection, laptop or PC, and ability to join video calls
- Exclusivity agreement and 30-day notice period after the first month
