About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Vet carriers, track and trace active shipments, maintain shipment visibility, and communicate proactively with drivers regarding pickup and delivery status
  • Identify potential service failures and manage shipment exceptions such as late pickups or carrier fall-offs
  • Research market rates using industry tools, source qualified carriers, and negotiate rates
  • Manage assigned customer accounts from initial quote request through successful delivery and retention
  • Build long-term client relationships through rapid responses, accurate pricing, and reliable service
  • Maintain precise records in the Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Provide professional shipment updates via email and phone

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluent professional proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Strong confidence in telephone communication and negotiation
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple high-priority shipments simultaneously
  • A proactive, "ownership" mindset—noticing what needs to be done and acting without being told
  • Ability to work a Thursday–Monday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST) during the development phase
  • High level of personal accountability and resilience in a fast-paced environment
  • 1–2 years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics coordination, or carrier sales (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with industry tools such as DAT, Truckstop, or Tai Software (nice-to-have)
  • Previous experience sourcing and negotiating with U.S. motor carriers (nice-to-have)
  • Familiarity with specialized freight, including Produce, Reefer, Flatbed, or Oversize loads (nice-to-have)
