About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of Applied HVAC sales professionals
- Coach the team through customer visits, ride-alongs, job walks, and opportunity planning
- Recruit employees and help build their careers
- Set expectations, hold people accountable, coach struggling employees, and develop high performers and future leaders
- Work alongside representatives on complex temporary heating and cooling applications
- Help scope customer systems and determine when technical, operational, engineering, or safety resources are needed
- Own revenue growth and commercial performance across assigned markets
- Establish budgets, forecasts, territory plans, and growth expectations
- Develop territories and customer relationships
- Identify new geographies, verticals, customers, and applications for business growth
- Support major projects and strategic opportunities
- Advise leadership on fleet and resource investments based on market observations
- Build relationships with contractors, engineers, facility leaders, end users, and strategic partners
- Help navigate technically complex projects and difficult customer situations
- Encourage customer-problem-solving and make it easy for customers to do business with HVAC RNTL
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experienced HVAC sales manager with strong commercial HVAC knowledge
- Proven history of leading people
- Experience hiring people, developing them, promoting strong performers, addressing poor performance, making difficult personnel decisions, setting budgets, forecasting the business, and being accountable for team results
- Ideally, experience in HVAC rental, applied equipment, mechanical contracting, commercial service, or another technical HVAC environment
- Professional, collaborative, curious, technically credible, and comfortable with customers
- Willingness to travel with the sales team and work in the field
- Comfortable discussing chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, airflow, water flow, temperature, pressure, power, controls, temporary distribution, and their interaction in temporary HVAC applications
