About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and support scalable data products, platforms, and pipelines
Enable operational reporting, business intelligence, self-service analytics, and advanced AI capabilities
Partner with product managers, data scientists, machine-learning teams, business stewards, engineering teams, and program management
Provide day-to-day operational support and resolve data-related issues
Gather business requirements, assess feasibility and impact, and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule
Design scalable, secure, and sustainable data solutions
Work with high-volume datasets, optimize database queries, and resolve complex technical problems
Acquire, ingest, transform, and integrate large and complex datasets
Participate in Agile/Scrum planning, estimation, refinement, delivery, and continuous improvement
Promote data quality, reliability, scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence
Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and architectural decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

5 to 8+ years of experience within data engineering or related technical work including business intelligence and analytics
Experience designing and building scalable and robust data pipelines
Very good understanding of the full software development life cycle
Very good understanding of data warehousing concepts and approaches
Experience building data pipelines and ETL approaches
Experience building data warehouse and business intelligence projects
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud and AWS native technologies such as Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Lake Formation, S3, and Redshift
Experience using Spark EMR, RDS, EC2, Athena, API capabilities, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail is a plus
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, and ThoughtSpot
Hands-on experience building complex business logic and ETL workflows using Informatica IICS and Alteryx
Experience in Python or Unix Scripting
Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Snowflake, relational databases, database concepts, and dimensional modeling
Strong experience using Snowflake native pipelines, Snowflake native app including Streamlit, and Python-based Container Services
Experience using AI, including Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities
Knowledge of application and backend API development using Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills applicable to Data Warehouse and Big Data environments
Ability to manage multiple projects and report simultaneously across different stakeholders
Rigorous attention to detail and data, process, and requirements accuracy
