About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and operate full-stack cloud solutions and services in an AWS Cloud Environment using a serverless-first and managed-service-first approach
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices and coding standards
Develop UI interfaces with React using hooks, functional components, and context
Define application infrastructure using an Infrastructure-as-Code approach, primarily with Terraform
Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle
Lead technical discussions to share knowledge and build consensus among engineers
Maintain DevOps processes and deployment pipelines for application and feature releases
Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to align engineering efforts with business goals and user needs
Participate in product planning and roadmap discussions
Own end-to-end feature development from ideation and prototyping through deployment and continuous improvement
Use analytics and user feedback to iterate on features and improve product experience
Mentor engineering team members in technical decision-making, code reviews, and engineering standards
Foster a diverse and inclusive team culture aligned with Hyatt’s core values
Design and build AI-enabled product capabilities using approved LLM services and APIs
Develop retrieval-augmented generation and other grounded AI patterns using enterprise data sources and embedding or vector-search technologies
Apply responsible AI practices, including evaluation, grounding and citation checks, privacy and security safeguards, human review, and quality and cost monitoring
Use approved AI coding assistants to support implementation, testing, documentation, and code exploration while reviewing and validating generated output

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience architecting and developing full-stack solutions, with hands-on use of software build and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines
8+ years of experience in application and backend API development using object-oriented programming: Java, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript
8+ years of web application development experience: HTML, CSS, React, Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript/Python
Strong understanding of AWS serverless solutions including S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, and EventBridge
Experience working with cloud database services including DynamoDB and Snowflake
Experience with containerization including Snowpark Container Services, Docker, and AWS ECS/Fargate
Experience with cloud build and deployment tools
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and frameworks such as Serverless Framework, AWS CloudFormation, and Terraform
Base understanding of cloud services and infrastructure in AWS
Knowledge of event-driven and service-oriented architectures
Experience working in Agile development environments and tools
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skill
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience designing and implementing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Application security and accessibility best practices
Demonstrated experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into production applications, including prompt design, API integration, and at least one grounded approach such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Ability to evaluate AI-generated results for correctness, relevance, safety, and bias
Understanding of privacy, security, and responsible-use considerations for AI systems
Experience using an AI coding assistant such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, or an equivalent tool in a software development workflow, with the judgment to review, test, and secure AI-generated code
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related quantitative field is preferred
Professional certifications in AWS or Snowflake are preferred
Experience with Hospitality is preferred
