About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the trusted technical and strategic partner to engineering and content leaders evaluating Hygraph
  • Lead technical discovery to uncover business goals, current architecture, and measurable success outcomes
  • Design and present solution architectures tailored to prospects’ technology stacks, content operations, and constraints
  • Build and deliver tailored demos, including web front-end prototypes with modern frameworks
  • Scope and run Proof of Outcomes engagements with clear success criteria
  • Partner with Forward Deployed Engineers on hands-on build work
  • Lead technical workshops and deep dives for executives, architects, developers, and content teams
  • Own the technical win in late-stage deals, including security, scalability, integration, and migration questions
  • Partner with Account Executives on account strategy, qualification, and deal planning
  • Provide field insight to Product and Engineering
  • Drive clean handoffs from sales to onboarding
  • Advise new customers on content modeling, schema design, localization, frontend choices, and third-party integrations
  • Partner with CSMs and Forward Deployed Engineers on complex technical engagements and expansion opportunities
  • Contribute to reference architectures, best-practice guidance, and reusable customer-lifecycle assets
  • Document complex customer cases to strengthen team playbooks
  • Report to the Director of Solutions & Support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years in a technical, customer-facing role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting
  • At least 3 years in B2B pre-sales for an API-first or developer-focused SaaS product
  • Strong working knowledge of GraphQL and modern web architectures, including React, Next.js, Svelte, and similar frameworks
  • Knowledge of composable and headless approaches
  • Consultative approach focused on business outcomes
  • Experience scoping and running proofs of concept or pilots with defined, measurable success criteria
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to executive, technical, and editorial audiences
  • Solid grasp of content strategy and content operations
  • Ability to assess and prioritize pain points, identify root causes, and align solutions with functional and non-functional requirements
  • Comfort working cross-functionally across Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Comfort with occasional travel to meet prospects and customers in person
  • Demonstrated experience working remotely across distributed, global teams and time zones
  • Bonus: experience with headless CMS, DXP, or composable architecture platforms
  • Bonus: experience selling into enterprises with complex buying committees, procurement, and security reviews
  • Bonus: experience alongside forward-deployed, professional services, or delivery engineering teams
  • Bonus: familiarity with AI tooling, LLM-driven content workflows, or MCP
  • Bonus: CMS migration experience
  • Bonus: experience consulting on enterprise architecture or digital transformation strategy
