About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with implementation, monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT infrastructure
- Respond to and resolve system-related requests in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot issues with oversight from team members
- Create and execute server and systems installation, upgrade, and modernization projects
- Identify proposals for purchasing new technology to support infrastructure growth and efficiency
- Support server maintenance, storage, networking, database administration, network security, messaging, directory services, server virtualization, and monitoring
- Assist with server and environment audits for compliance with standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
- Participate in maintaining, testing, and executing the disaster recovery plan
- Compose internal documentation reflecting processes and system configurations
- Contribute ideas to improve internal efficiencies
- Stay current with best practices and market trends
- Self-manage projects to completion while collaborating with team members and supporting infrastructure goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in systems administration with hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows network environments, including Microsoft Active Directory
- Familiarity with virtualization technology
- Knowledge of Dell, IBM, Cisco, and/or HP server hardware
- Ability to support server maintenance, storage, networking, and related infrastructure systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to verify work thoroughly
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately for the subject and audience
- Ability to write concise, logical, and grammatically correct documentation
- Strong customer service orientation and collaborative skills
- Self-motivated ability to manage projects to completion
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the role
- Experience supporting storage, networking, database administration, network security, messaging, directory services, and server virtualization in a production environment
- Experience participating in disaster recovery plan maintenance, testing, and execution
- Experience assisting with server and environment audits for compliance
- Ability to identify internal efficiency improvements and stay current with IT infrastructure best practices and trends
