About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Initiate, build, and maintain bespoke software platforms
Design and write high-quality Python and Django code for websites and platforms
Collaborate on engineering projects, sprint planning, technical troubleshooting, and reducing technical debt
Share knowledge with team members and take guidance from senior engineers
Work with Product to plan, design, and technically implement features used by tens of thousands of people worldwide
Refactor and improve legacy code, addressing volatile requirements and bug hotspots
Communicate through clean code, technical documentation, commented merge requests, work breakdowns, test plans, and clear comments
Maintain platforms including student, mentor, and placements portals; website and payment gateways; sign-up flows; and data analysis platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 2 years of experience as a full stack engineer
Demonstrable commercial experience with Python
Minimum 2 years of experience with React, Vue, or Angular
Hands-on experience with Django or other Python web frameworks
Experience working with RDBMS and SQL
Experience with UNIX-based operating systems
Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to produce high-standard work with minimal supervision
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt in line with or ahead of external changes
Prior tech startup experience in a high-growth and ambitious environment is preferred
