About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to product decisions and influence technical direction across products and solutions
- Champion the organization’s technology architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Serve as technical lead for one or more products on architectural and development decisions
- Establish architectural and development principles, patterns, and decision frameworks
- Communicate complex architecture and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Design secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective enterprise-scale software solutions
- Build integrations supporting data transformation across internal and external systems
- Adopt and extend infrastructure-as-code reference implementations
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and provide implementation guidance
- Conduct technical reviews to identify optimization opportunities, technical debt, and modernization priorities
- Participate in hands-on development, provide technical guidance, and remove blockers
- Drive initiatives improving software maturity, operational excellence, and engineering productivity
- Identify automation, standardization, and simplification opportunities
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate on system designs and issue resolution
- Manage deliverables through the software development life cycle and escalate impediments
- Demonstrate incremental changes and evaluate delivery readiness
- Collaborate with Product and Quality Engineering teams on planning, refinement, defects, and observations
- Build and maintain automated unit and integration tests
- Monitor and support software to meet service-level agreements
- Research relevant technologies and share insights with the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent demonstrated experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering or related technical leadership roles
- Proven track record architecting and developing large-scale, production-grade software in enterprise environments
- Demonstrated experience influencing technical direction, with or without direct authority
- History of leading software delivery initiatives from concept through delivery, including product modernization and integration programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and diagnose complex issues
- Strategic thinking capability and ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions
- Ability to mentor and teach others
- Ability to drive initiatives independently while collaborating effectively
- Understanding of Agile software methodologies, such as Scrum
- Expert-level knowledge of software engineering and architecture patterns and Clean architecture principles
- Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud architecture patterns and services
- Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and practices, including Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates
- Strong understanding of secure computing principles, compliance frameworks including SOC2, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA, and infrastructure components
- Strong understanding of containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and microservices patterns
- Proficiency with DevOps tooling, Git, CI/CD, configuration, observability, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code languages such as Terraform and HCL
- Proficiency with containerized and serverless architectures, microservices, and event-driven architecture patterns
- Experience building modern, responsive web applications
- Proficiency creating and consuming APIs, including REST and SOAP
- Preferred: Proficient in .NET development with hands-on C# experience
- Preferred: Significant professional experience in the Microsoft .NET ecosystem
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with multiple programming languages, such as Python and Go
- Preferred: Experience with modern front-end web frameworks, such as Blazor and Angular
- Preferred: Experience with AWS
- Preferred: Experience with relational and NoSQL database architecture and administration
- Preferred: Experience architecting software for AI workloads and understanding Agentic AI architectures
- Preferred: Knowledge of responsible AI practices, governance frameworks, and security considerations
- Preferred: Knowledge of the Atlassian suite, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
