About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support payroll processing, including data entry, report generation, timesheet adjustments, and backup coverage for the Payroll Manager
- Answer employee questions and address HR-related concerns
- Provide information about benefits and pay
- Ensure necessary documents are processed and entered in the HRIS
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Assist employees with STD/LTD and other forms
- Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS data
- Ensure HR practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Provide administrative support through scheduling meetings, managing files, and preparing reports
- Manage temporary staffing requests, including liaising with staffing agencies, handling timecards and invoices, and processing requests and cancellations
- Proactively discuss process improvement ideas and solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma required; diploma or degree in Human Resources preferred
- 2+ years of experience in Payroll / HR
- Proficiency in HR software and systems
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to plan and effectively set priorities for implementation
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in a time-sensitive, logistics environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate strong time management
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work setting with strong attention to detail
- Superior communication and listening skills
- Ability to interact across varied settings and with a broad, diverse workforce
