About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build the platform at the heart of ICEYE's data business for purchasing and receiving imagery and insights
Own the technical architecture and migration plan for consolidating backend systems into one unified platform
Make architecture and data-model decisions and drive execution across multiple engineering teams
Deliver the platform's first production milestone within the first quarter of 2027
Lead migration of remaining live products without disrupting customers
Set technical standards for ongoing platform consolidation
Evaluate and promote useful AI-assisted engineering practices
Partner with product and engineering leadership as priorities evolve
Report to the Senior Engineering Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

Backend production engineering experience in Go, or deep backend expertise in a similar language
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
Experience with event-driven, message-based architectures
Production experience with a major cloud provider; AWS preferred
Practical experience with observability tooling such as LGTM stack, Datadog and OpenTelemetry
Track record of technically leading an architecture renewal, platform consolidation, or large-scale migration end to end
Proven ability to align multiple engineering teams and stakeholders around a shared technical direction
Geospatial or space industry experience is a strong plus
Employment is subject to applicable security screening, including SUPO
