About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify improvements and optimize processes through changes to equipment, systems, practices, and procedures
  • Identify opportunities and develop and coordinate plant projects to improve process capabilities, safety, and competitive position
  • Lead or coordinate troubleshooting, de-bottlenecking, and plant tests with other technical personnel
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes
  • Determine relative costs compared with existing processes
  • Monitor environmental regulations and performance against regulations
  • Participate in or lead plant safety activities
  • Interact with operators, maintenance, supervision, plant leadership, and corporate support personnel

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. degree in Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing, food, or chemical processing environment required
  • Relevant co-op experience may be considered in lieu of the two-year experience requirement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including analyzing complex problems using data
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Leadership skills and ability to lead change
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills
  • Flexibility and availability to work weekends and holidays if needed
  • Five years’ experience in manufacturing, food, or chemical processing is preferred
  • Experience in calcium phosphates, potassium phosphates, and sodium aluminum phosphates is preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require current or future work-authorization sponsorship
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to St. Louis, Missouri
