About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify improvements and optimize processes through changes to equipment, systems, practices and procedures
- Identify opportunities, develop and coordinate plant projects to improve process capabilities, safety and competitive position
- Lead and/or coordinate troubleshooting, de-bottlenecking and plant tests with other technical personnel
- Perform technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes and determine relative costs compared to existing processes
- Monitor environmental regulations and performance against regulations
- Participate or lead plant safety activities
- Interact with operators, maintenance, supervision, plant leadership and corporate support personnel
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex problems using data
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Leadership skills and the ability to lead change
- Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Strong computer skills
- Flexibility and availability to work weekends and holidays if needed to support department operation
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or food or chemical processing
- Preferred experience in calcium phosphates, potassium phosphates, and sodium aluminum phosphates
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future
- Must reside within a commutable distance to St. Louis, MO
