About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and grow the customer base in Mexico across meat, poultry, seafood, specialty food, dairy, bakery, and beverage segments
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers
  • Translate business strategy into actionable sales plans and advocate for customer needs within the organization
  • Build relationships with key customer stakeholders, including R&D, Operations, Procurement, and Marketing
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles, relationship plans, and strategic targets
  • Achieve KPIs for assigned customers and territory
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities and align resources to support customer expansion
  • Drive sales growth and increase market share with key customers
  • Manage contracts, pricing, and key negotiations
  • Track and support customer opportunities and sales-related tasks using Salesforce.com
  • Serve as the primary link between customers and the U.S.-based technical excellence center
  • Oversee volume forecasting for assigned customers
  • Monitor and communicate customer, market, and competitor trends
  • Perform in-plant problem solving and provide hands-on technical expertise
  • Travel extensively within Mexico and occasionally to the US for tradeshows and corporate meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales or R&D within the food ingredient industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including dispute resolution
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth with existing and new products
  • Skilled in negotiating complex and challenging situations
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to change
  • Ability to develop opportunities, manage priorities, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong personal presence and effectiveness in customer interactions and internal collaboration
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Mexico, minimum 75% of the time, with occasional travel to the US
  • Experience in technical sales within the food ingredient industry
  • Experience in Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Dairy, Beverage, and Bakery customer development
  • Hands-on experience in food applications, working directly with customer R&D teams
