About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and develop contracts and change orders for newly awarded and ongoing projects
- Work simultaneously on numerous contracts and/or change orders and develop more complicated budgets
- Lead discussions with ICON Legal, Sales, and Contracts Managers to determine appropriate contract terms and conditions
- Use ICON costing tools, client budget grids, and Client Contract Services tools and templates
- Explain the costing process to people without a financial background
- Understand operational department tasks, roles, and cost drivers within ICON
- Solicit input and review contracts and change orders from relevant operational departments
- Review and challenge supporting information for budget changes to ensure changes are reasonable and justified
- Understand legal language in MSAs, Start-up Agreements, and standalone contracts
- Develop cash-neutral payment schedules as required
- Identify issues requiring Legal, operations, or senior management review
- Liaise with Contract Managers on issues escalated within ICON or to clients
- Provide project and financial analysis to support project-team budget information before client submission
- Update Salesforce with accurate contract and change-order status information
- Develop and maintain client/project files and tracking tools
- Manage and prioritize workload around timelines and client submissions
- Review client/project documents and budgets before final Contract Manager quality-control review
- Build relationships with project teams, sales, proposals, finance, project analysis, clients, service areas, and vendors
- Communicate contract and change-order status clearly with project teams and clients
- Provide information for client negotiations and discussions
- Organize, lead, chair, and manage internal and client-related meetings
- Contribute to process improvement and streamlined processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 2+ years’ experience within contract analysis, finance, or a related field preferred
- Applicants with a background in Proposals, Data Management or Financial Business Partnering within the CRO industry will also be considered
- In-depth knowledge of the CRO industry and clinical trials
- Experience with service grids/costing tools required
- Experience with Excel beneficial
- Excellent command of English
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Legal right to work in the country where the role is based
