About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and support investment cases through technical, economic, and capacity studies
- Present investment cases to management
- Carry out acceptance and equipment qualification phases at supplier and IDEMIA sites
- Anticipate and implement tests and measurements within cost, quality, and time constraints
- Coordinate equipment transfer projects between sites and suppliers while considering planning constraints
- Visit equipment suppliers and conduct tests to assess capabilities of potential new equipment
- Write technical documentation, including work instructions, control plans, manufacturing process settings, and troubleshooting documentation
- Monitor production starts for installed equipment and collect key production indicators
- Collect operational data and user recommendations to define and propose improvement solutions
- Challenge users and management to implement proposed solutions
- Support new product industrialization by organizing or leading defined tests and design of experiments
- Support new product deployment using guidelines and track pilot KPIs
- Support the Lv3 Laser Expert by training as an Lv2 Laser Expert
- Propose optimized equipment and associated service solutions for tenders based on experience, technical specifications, supplier quotations, and feasibility tests
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in industry/workshop environments with automated fast-throughput processes
- Experience with project management methods
- Strong knowledge of engineering disciplines, systems, and processes, including mechanics, electronics, PLC, and automation
- Very strong hands-on aptitude
- 5–10 years of experience
- Mechanical, Engineering, or Production Master degree
- Fluent English level required
- German is a plus
- Proficiency with Office IT tools
- AutoCAD knowledge for workshop footprint work
- Laser engraving technology knowledge is a plus
- Plastic/printing knowledge is a plus
- Aptitude for diagnosing and solving problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially with technical information
- Project management skills
- Customer satisfaction focus
- Ability to work at a fast pace to cope with Smart Card industry hourly demand
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multicultural team
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally; estimated travel time 30%
