About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Document functional, regulatory, and environmental requirements for electronic products and systems
  • Support legacy and new product designs regarding quality issues
  • Work with the RMA department to identify quality trends and corrective actions
  • Guide compliance with ISO requirements and standards
  • Create and implement quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Develop hardware quality standards with Engineering across business units
  • Address problems and develop standards with contract manufacturers
  • Define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality issues
  • Coordinate supply chain issues and part replacements with Purchasing, contract manufacturers, and Engineering
  • Manage root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier and contract manufacturer quality issues
  • Assist with supplier visits for root cause analysis and corrective-action verification
  • Administer and oversee ISO 9001:2015 quality system requirements across sites
  • Validate Electronic department development processes and resources
  • Perform process and procedure assessments and audits
  • Review product specifications to establish quality and reliability objectives
  • Participate in first article inspections of products received from contract manufacturers
  • Investigate issue data to identify trends and prevent escalation of field issues
  • Work across four North American business units
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, supply chain management, or manufacturing processes
  • 5+ years' experience, including at least 2 years in a supplier quality role
  • Ability to travel as needed to support regional activities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members
  • Ability to present information to management and customer staff for reporting or training
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and statistical analysis techniques
  • Ability to apply logical and scientific thinking to abstract and practical problems
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Six Sigma/Lean skills
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use business metrics to drive improved business and operational results
