About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategy, commercial performance, and operational execution of IDEXX's hardware, hardware support, and practice supplies businesses serving veterinary practices across North America
  • Own P&L performance, pricing strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and financial health
  • Define portfolio strategy, product selection, vendor relationships, lifecycle management, product transitions, and expansion opportunities
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Engineering on product validation and onboarding before customer release
  • Manage inventory strategy and stock levels across multiple North American warehouses with Procurement and Logistics
  • Oversee hardware support subscription business strategy, pricing, customer experience, and operational performance
  • Develop pricing programs, promotional initiatives, referral strategies, and commercial offerings with Sales leadership
  • Lead commercial marketing, including catalogs, promotional campaigns, sales materials, and customer communications
  • Manage key vendor and OEM relationships, negotiate pricing, address quality concerns, and resolve escalations
  • Serve as senior escalation point for significant customer and product issues
  • Analyze business performance data and improve revenue, margin, inventory management, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead and develop two direct reports and influence cross-functional teams
  • Ensure reliable, scalable, and well-supported products and services for veterinary practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, category management, or a related commercial leadership role, including at least 3 years of P&L ownership
  • Experience managing pricing, margins, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for a physical-product business
  • Experience managing hardware product portfolios, preferably including PCs, servers, printers, networking equipment, or related technologies
  • Experience working with product onboarding, validation, or gated product introduction processes in partnership with technical or quality teams
  • Experience managing vendor and OEM relationships, including supplier onboarding, commercial negotiations, and quality escalations
  • Experience managing inventory planning, supply chain operations, and product fulfillment across multiple locations
  • Experience using ERP and CRM systems, preferably SAP and Salesforce
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into actionable business insights
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results without direct reporting authority
  • Experience leading and developing employees
  • Strong business acumen, including experience managing pricing strategies, inventory decisions, and commercial performance
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting small-business customers within veterinary, medical, dental, legal, or similar professional practice environments
  • Experience with major hardware vendors such as Dell, Apple, Microsoft, Lexmark, Xerox, CDW, or similar organizations
  • Experience managing subscription, support plan, warranty, or service-contract businesses
  • Experience with direct marketing, catalog development, agency management, and customer communications
  • Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) platforms, system imaging, and operating system lifecycle management
  • Exposure to managed service provider (MSP) business models
  • Occasional travel up to 15%
