About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide telephone consultations to veterinary professionals on oncology cases in dogs and cats
  • Advise on diagnostic test selection, laboratory result interpretation, and treatment and management options
  • Guide customers on IDEXX oncologic tests, including histopathology and cytology reports, Cancer DX, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and PARR
  • Advise on appropriate sample collection, clinical utility and interpretation of diagnostic tests
  • Support customers with IDEXX in-house diagnostic tests, including Catalyst and ProCyte analysers
  • Advise on reference laboratory testing and availability across different markets
  • Maintain and develop medical knowledge through self-directed learning, scientific meetings, continuing education and literature review
  • Provide customer consultations during regular working hours and record consultations in the Customer Relationship Management system
  • Write or review newsletter articles, diagnostic or service updates, and marketing, sales or educational material
  • Participate in IDEXX educational and organisational meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA, Oncology) or the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM, Oncology)
  • Candidates with extensive clinical oncology experience who are board-eligible will also be considered
  • Fluency in German and English, spoken and written, is required
  • Additional languages are an advantage
  • Familiarity with veterinary oncology practice, clinical guidelines, and the regulatory and referral environment in Europe, especially Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • Current veterinary license or registration in good standing in a European country
  • Right to work in that country

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and clinical reasoning skills
