About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive the design and implementation of efficient, scalable, dynamic, and maintainable front-end solutions using Next.js
Collaborate with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, QA, and product managers to integrate dynamic React components
Lead and mentor the front-end development team, support professional growth, and run training sessions and workshops
Set and enforce coding standards, best practices, and code reviews
Use GraphQL for efficient data fetching and API data manipulation from composable e-commerce and headless CMS platforms
Own WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility and Core Web Vitals performance across e-commerce sites
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
Contribute to project planning, resource allocation, and sprint reviews
Oversee front-end delivery across web properties, primarily NordicTrack.com
Report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering and manage three direct reports

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 4 years, or 8+ years of professional front-end development experience
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React, with hands-on Next.js experience
3+ years leading or mentoring front-end developers
Experience with GraphQL and with headless CMS or composable e-commerce platforms
Experience implementing and analyzing A/B tests for web applications
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred: Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Preferred: Experience with Vercel or Netlify
Preferred: Experience with Git and build tools such as Webpack/Vite and npm
Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA, Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), and image and video optimization
Preferred: Experience with Figma or similar design tools
Preferred: Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Preferred: Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred: Experience with AI-assisted development tools
