About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in BFL offerings, courses, meetings, and other activities
- Lead positive change efforts by motivating, recognizing, and inspiring employees
- Maintain awareness of safety, environmental, and process compliance
- Champion hazard identification, evaluation, and control through behavior-based safety and risk assessment programs
- Lead and direct production operations during the assigned shift
- Increase employee engagement and improve labor relations through continuous improvement activities
- Drive accountability for direct reports through education, motivation, documentation, and behavior-based coaching
- Increase operator involvement in maintenance
- Participate in root cause analysis using 5 Why, fishbone, and similar methods
- Continually improve plant operational efficiency
- Support other department goals
- Complete compliance documentation, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, and incident investigations
- Facilitate meetings and team discussions
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide job training using standard work descriptions, SOPs, and WIs
- Conduct safety training, including STOP and FLRA programs
- Resolve conflicts promptly and ensure behavior aligns with IKO values
- Ensure rigorous follow-up of all 5S activities
- Participate in the 24-month Building Future Leaders Program, including collaboration with BFL members, executive meetings, plant tours, career mapping workshops, and professional development initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior (Expected May 2027 Grad) or Recent Graduate (within 12 months) specializing in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering program
- Leadership experience preferred
- Proficient in MS Excel (advanced functionality), MS Word, MS Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat
- Critical thinking skills and high degree of organization
- Must be able to stand and walk frequently
- Must be comfortable working at heights occasionally
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to travel freely to Canada for training and site visits
- Safety Sensitive position
- Troubleshooting capability is a plus
