About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle inbound and/or outbound calls regarding patient healthcare billing concerns
  • Collect past-due balances while maintaining excellent customer service and confidentiality
  • Communicate with patients about medical bills and accounts
  • Answer questions regarding benefits, billing, claims, payments, and related issues
  • Review and analyze insurance Explanation of Benefits to determine patient responsibility, adjustments, and write-offs
  • Explain charges and communicate requirements, policies, procedures, and financial care resources
  • Work within a virtual Patient Contact Center in a team environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Excellent organization, customer service and communication skills
  • Moderate computer proficiency including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite Tools
  • Problem solving skills, good judgment, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Ability to multi-task and work within multiple systems at the same time
  • Able to work with little or no supervision
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • 1 year of patient contact center (call center) experience
  • Knowledge of medical billing and/or revenue cycle management within a healthcare-related field preferred
  • Ability to work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM CST
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
