About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in an agency-sponsored child support services training program of up to twelve months
  • Receive training to develop knowledge and understanding of the Child Support program, policies, and processes
  • Receive training in interpreting and reviewing child support orders
  • Assist staff with calculating financial obligations and support balances related to child support accounts
  • Assist with interpreting and reviewing judicial and administrative support orders for case review and system entry
  • Resolve customer service issues through direct customer contact or with other state agencies and legal partners by phone, written correspondence, and email
  • Gather data through face-to-face interviews and other sources or reviews
  • Review and prepare petitions, including petitions from other IV-D agencies/jurisdictions, for Custodial Parents
  • Assist with managing the establishment, modification, and enforcement of court orders
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education and experience equivalent to four years of college with coursework in psychology, sociology, social welfare, business administration, or finance, or equivalent educational attainment in a related field; OR
  • Education and experience equivalent to two years of college with a minimum of eight semester hours in finance and four years of experience in the Child Support Enforcement program area; OR
  • Eight years of experience performing paraprofessional functions in the Child Support Enforcement program area
  • Ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
  • Ability to utilize and maintain state-issued equipment such as a laptop
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Bilingual skills welcome
