Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently lead cross-enterprise strategy projects from initial framing through recommendation and executive decision
  • Define strategic decisions, alternatives, decision criteria, hypotheses, and integrated workplans
  • Determine required market, customer, competitive, scientific, technology, operational, and financial evidence
  • Direct analysis, pressure-test assumptions, and own the project fact base and strategic conclusion
  • Develop strategic alternatives and quantify implications for growth, investment, risk, capabilities, organizational requirements, and opportunity cost
  • Engage functional, domain, product, and regional leaders to integrate enterprise perspectives
  • Lead sponsor working sessions and present decision-ready recommendations to senior leaders and the ELT
  • Contribute to Board-ready materials
  • Lead cross-functional strategy project teams, coordinate contributors, review analytical quality, and provide project-based coaching
  • Translate approved recommendations into implications, owners, milestones, assumptions, and measures of value
  • Identify changed conditions requiring sponsor intervention while leaving implementation accountability with business and functional leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Typically 15–18 years of cumulative relevant experience
  • 4+ years in a top-tier global strategy consulting firm or directly comparable firm, including progression to project or engagement leadership, hypothesis-driven problem solving, senior executive sponsors, multi-workstream delivery, and consulting-team development
  • Demonstrated experience addressing enterprise, market, growth, portfolio, business-model, and capability decisions
  • 3+ years directly advising C-suite executives or equivalent enterprise decision-makers
  • 3+ years independently leading complex, cross-functional strategy engagements through senior executive decision
  • 2+ years leading and coaching multi-person strategy project teams
  • Demonstrated direct use of AI-enabled approaches to accelerate strategy development, including responsible handling of confidential information, validation of outputs, and sound human judgment
  • Advanced structured problem-solving, quantitative analysis, financial modeling, scenario development, synthesis, executive communication, and matrixed influence skills
  • Strong commercial and financial judgment and ability to understand complex scientific and technology-driven markets
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
  • Flexibility to support time-sensitive executive decision cycles across global time zones
