About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of company financial records and the month-end close process
  • Perform complex accounting activities and prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, commissions, and other recurring or complex transactions
  • Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
  • Conduct account analysis and ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate accounting period
  • Perform variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts and provide supporting schedules, reports, and analyses to management
  • Support accounting for SaaS subscriptions, implementation services, professional services, and other customer arrangements
  • Perform revenue recognition activities and maintain related schedules in accordance with ASC 606
  • Review contracts, sales orders, and billing information for proper accounting treatment
  • Maintain reconciliations related to deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, contract assets, and other revenue-related accounts
  • Support the end-to-end order-to-cash process, including contract review, billing, collections support, dispute resolution, account reconciliation, and discrepancy investigation
  • Collaborate with Billing, Sales Operations, Legal, Finance, and Customer Success teams to resolve accounting, billing, revenue recognition, contract, and data-related issues
  • Record, reconcile, and analyze payroll and payroll-related accounts
  • Investigate discrepancies between payroll systems and the general ledger
  • Support accounting for employee compensation, commissions, incentive compensation, taxes, benefits, and other employee-related liabilities
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses for external audits
  • Support tax filings, regulatory reporting, compliance requirements, and accounting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve accounting processes
  • Support accounting system implementations, upgrades, integrations, testing, chart-of-accounts maintenance, and system configuration
  • Document accounting procedures, financial workflows, and internal control processes
  • Participate in financial systems and upstream/downstream business process projects
  • Travel to orientation, industry events, company meetings, training sessions, or other onsite activities as required
  • Perform additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned
  • Report under the direction of the Assistant Controller

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Progressive professional accounting experience, preferably within a SaaS, software, technology, or rapidly growing organization
  • Strong understanding and practical application of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, variance analysis, and month-end close processes
  • Experience supporting revenue accounting and ASC 606 revenue recognition preferred
  • Knowledge of deferred revenue, contract assets, unbilled receivables, and other revenue-related accounting activities preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting, commissions, employee-related liabilities, and compensation-related accounting processes preferred
  • Experience supporting external audits, regulatory compliance activities, and tax-related accounting requirements preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP and accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Intacct, or similar systems preferred
  • Experience with billing, payroll, expense management, tax, and revenue-recognition platforms preferred
  • Experience with system implementations, upgrades, integrations, or conversions preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet recurring deadlines, and adapt effectively in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain discretion when handling proprietary, confidential, and sensitive financial information
  • Enthusiasm for learning, continuous improvement, and expanding professional knowledge and skills
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, accountability, collaboration, and team orientation
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to work in-office on a hybrid basis as required
