About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead iMentor Chicago’s volunteer recruitment strategy, targeting 550–725 new mentors annually
- Monitor weekly and monthly recruitment funnel data in Salesforce and produce progress reports for the Executive Director of Programs and Chicago Leadership Team
- Package Salesforce recruitment data into goal-versus-actual reports and updates for funders and the Chicago Advisory Board
- Manage a significant portion of iMentor Chicago’s corporate partner portfolio
- Establish and maintain relationships with private, public, community-based organizations, and civic groups
- Identify and steward key external stakeholder relationships with the Executive Director of Programs
- Support Chicago Advisory Board relationship management and facilitate the Partnerships Sub-Committee
- Co-develop mentor community strategies with Chicago Program and National Development teams
- Manage, inspire, and encourage a team implementing recruitment and mentor-experience strategies
- Identify recruitment opportunities through speaking engagements and networking events
- Oversee mentor information sessions, orientations, and trainings
- Coordinate with the national safety screening team to move volunteers from recruitment through screening to program readiness
- Manage the Mentor Engagement vertical’s budget
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required
- Travel 15–20% within Chicago, primarily during the summer/early fall recruitment season
- Work after hours, weekends, and in person as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 7+ years of work experience in a high-growth organization
- At least 3 years of staff management experience
- Expertise in partnership development and management, business development, volunteer recruitment and engagement, community organizing, and fundraising
- Proven success meeting ambitious performance targets
- Prior experience working with corporations or other external partners
- Strong networking ability and ability to connect people with causes and engage them to take action
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and persistent, with strong critical thinking and data analysis skills
- Ability to recognize trends and drive strategic recommendations
- Strong public speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate a variety of people and build rapport, trust, and credibility
- Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities
- Excellent technology skills and database management experience
- Salesforce experience strongly preferred
- Ability to travel throughout Chicago and attend staff events and trainings on some weeknights and weekends
- High value placed on customer service and impressive follow-through
- Demonstrated alignment with iMentor's mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Must meet school district compliance requirements, including background checks
