Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of a defined set of clinical, administrative, or financial applications
  • Analyze, configure, test, support, release, train users on, and implement application technologies
  • Adopt best-practice standards aligned with IS and business strategies
  • Direct department operations for clinical, administrative, or financial systems
  • Manage budgets and financial assets
  • Oversee human-resource management and staff training
  • Provide technical leadership and direction for employees
  • Manage hiring, goal setting, coaching, mentoring, recognition, training, and performance management
  • Manage customer, stakeholder, and vendor relationships
  • Communicate with staff and allocate resources to projects for timely, budget-compliant delivery
  • Coordinate technical interdependencies, schedules, and business requirements with project teams and stakeholders
  • Ensure staff competency through application-specific training
  • Ensure adherence to support and service-management best practices
  • Create, manage, and measure operating and service-level agreements
  • Define, manage, and monitor application metrics such as incidents, requests, resolution time, and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate across IS teams to develop and test solutions, resolve incidents, identify root causes, and improve processes
  • Oversee technical support documentation and facilitate staff training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or computer technology related field from an accredited institution, or four years of experience in a healthcare or computer technology related field
  • Six years of experience configuring, supporting, training, and implementing clinical, financial, or administrative systems used in healthcare
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong analysis, problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Preferred: two years of management experience
  • Preferred: three years of experience supporting healthcare applications
  • Preferred: results-oriented, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to communicate information with others
  • Ability to operate computers and other IT equipment
  • Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents
  • Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods while working
