About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the first connection between Intermountain and patients, parents, and guardians
  • Answer phones promptly and communicate patient needs to clinical caregivers through messaging
  • Establish courteous and professional patient connections through omnichannel communications
  • Identify and resolve scheduling, registration, billing, payer, and medical requests
  • Document essential information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Coordinate with clinical care teams and other teams to provide seamless patient solutions
  • Use analytical skills and technical resources to anticipate and resolve patient requests
  • Support enterprise productivity and quality initiatives and contribute toward Intermountain Health key performance indicators

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in a call center environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must reside within a one-hour driving distance of Denver or Grand Junction, Colorado, or Butte or Billings, Montana
  • Flexible availability for all operating days and hours: Monday–Friday 7:00am–7:00pm and Saturday/Sunday/holidays 7:00am–5:00pm
  • DSL, fiber optic, or cable home Internet connection required; wireless and satellite connections are not allowed
  • Hardwired Ethernet connection required
  • Ability to see and read information, documents, and monitors
  • Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and frequent computer use
  • Preferred: one year of customer service experience in a hospital or medical office
  • Preferred: medical terminology knowledge
  • Preferred: experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
