About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, and maintain traditional and modern data infrastructures at staff level
  • Combine relational database, cloud, and big data expertise to create scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions
  • Develop strategies for enterprise data integration, data quality, and optimized data access across cloud and on-premise systems
  • Deliver data models, pipelines, and warehouses using SQL, Python, PySpark, and traditional RDBMS platforms
  • Design, build, and extend enterprise data governance platform capabilities
  • Build integrations across governance, data, analytics, AI, and operational platforms
  • Engineer metadata, lineage, observability, and catalog capabilities
  • Automate governance controls, workflows, policy enforcement, exception management, and audit evidence collection
  • Apply AI, LLM, and agentic technologies to governance operations
  • Establish trustworthy engineering practices for AI-enabled governance, including evaluation, quality measurement, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Deliver secure and governed platform services supporting analytics, AI agents, applications, and data products
  • Build stewardship tooling, workflow management, governance coverage reporting, operational dashboards, and scalability mechanisms
  • Partner with architecture, governance, analytics, engineering, cybersecurity, and vendor teams
  • Own platform capability lifecycle from design and deployment through monitoring, support, and continuous enhancement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proficiency with SQL and traditional RDBMS, including Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for data architecture and storage
  • Strong familiarity with Python and PySpark
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools, including SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks
  • Proficiency with Python, PySpark, or R programming
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder and team collaboration
  • Proficiency in Product Management, Project Management, or Program Management philosophies and methodologies
  • Ability to apply management methodologies to data architecture projects
  • Ability to work moderate to complex projects
  • Must comply with Intermountain policies and expectations, including confidentiality, information security, work schedules, conflicts of interest, and company equipment requirements for remote or hybrid roles
  • Candidates must reside outside the excluded states: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington; Colorado eligibility is limited as stated in the posting
  • Video interview through Microsoft Teams required; potential onsite interviews and meetings
  • Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods while working on a computer, telephone, or other equipment
