About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders across the organization on strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and actionable insights supporting business and clinical performance
  • Contribute to projects that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve outcomes
  • Support budgeting, strategic planning, variance reporting, and ad hoc analysis for a facility, region, division, or system-wide team
  • Support routine functions including operating budget, capital budget, strategic planning, patient accounts, and operations
  • Prepare routine to minimally complex financial analyses, variance reports, and ad hoc reports
  • Work with internal customers to develop quantitative reports using data to analyze clinical and operational issues
  • Participate in system-wide processes or improvement projects under supervision
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business related field preferred; degree must be obtained through an accredited institution
  • Financial Analyst I is entry level; no professional work experience required
  • One year of experience in finance, accounting, or analytics conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis preferred
  • Financial Analyst II: demonstrated experience with effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Financial Analyst II: demonstrated experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications
  • Financial Analyst II: two years of professional experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis preferred
  • Financial Analyst II: master’s degree with less than two years of relevant experience preferred
  • Senior Financial Analyst: demonstrated budgeting and finance tracking experience
  • Senior Financial Analyst: demonstrated project management skills, high accuracy, and sound decision-making with limited supervision
  • Senior Financial Analyst: demonstrated experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications
  • Senior Financial Analyst: demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Senior Financial Analyst: four years of professional experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis preferred
  • Senior Financial Analyst: master’s degree with two years of relevant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare finances and financial processes preferred
  • Experience with budgeting and finance tracking responsibilities preferred
  • Core business hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Ongoing ability to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
  • Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment; frequent computer use
  • For roles requiring driving, ability to drive a vehicle and read signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
