About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Intermountain Ventures' investment team through market research, due diligence, and data management
- Foster commercial innovations that can transform healthcare at Intermountain and beyond
- Source and screen deals, conduct industry and competitive research, and perform due diligence
- Draft opportunity memos, investment memos, and ongoing portfolio company updates
- Collaborate with evaluation teams to recommend pilots and evaluate financial opportunities
- Identify potential investment opportunities under senior investment team direction
- Interview company management, financial sponsors, industry participants, customers, and clients
- Perform valuation analyses using comparable company data, financial models, and discounted cash flow analysis when applicable
- Construct detailed financial models covering capital structure, purchase price, adjustments, and sensitivities
- Assess potential risks and synergy opportunities with implementation teams and internal stakeholders
- Work with legal counsel on legal due diligence and transaction close items
- Assist in managing portfolio companies after investment
- Conduct risk assessments and escalate identified risks to leadership
- Support additional funding decisions and exit strategy analyses
- Maintain accurate data in Salesforce, Workfront, CRM, and other databases
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports
- Support additional Intermountain Ventures projects as needed
- Report to managing directors and partner with the Venture Principal and Investment Associate
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; degree will be verified
- Preferred candidates with 1 year of analyst experience
- Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Strong understanding of research, presentation development, and valuation methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Experience balancing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience teaming with system stakeholders to identify needs and source solutions
- Demonstrated technical and analytical skills
- Background in asset management, corporate or business development, financial services, investment banking, mergers, acquisitions or divestitures, venture capital, or management consulting
- Ability to communicate verbally and hear and understand spoken information
- Ability to operate computers and other IT equipment
- Ability to read computer monitors and documents
- Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods while working
