About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee a team of Digital Technology Services project managers
  • Ensure strategic applications and technology projects and initiatives are implemented according to expectations
  • Collaborate with operational areas in alignment with organizational objectives
  • Build a winning culture using a repeatable, process-based approach
  • Lead complex projects and programs to completion on time and within budget
  • Create staffing plans and assign resources to optimize capacity
  • Facilitate resource allocation across multiple business lines and functional areas
  • Help define and ensure compliance with project management quality standards and best practices
  • Monitor and report team performance and project KPIs
  • Monitor and report project deliverables and outcomes
  • Direct employee staffing, goal setting, coaching, mentoring, recognition, engagement, training, recruitment, and performance management
  • Communicate with staff through huddles, team meetings, one-on-one meetings, rounding, and skip-level interviews
  • Manage customer, stakeholder, and vendor relationships and expectations
  • Validate financial forecasts and expected benefits, reconcile project expenses, and track actual value against expected results
  • Assist in the annual budget process
  • Plan and manage daily operations of the project management team within project timelines and budgets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, training, and change management
  • Proven success building and managing strong teams across complex project and program portfolios
  • Expertise in stakeholder identification and management, customer service, leading through influence, problem resolution, communication, and negotiation
  • 5+ years proven success in program and project management disciplines
  • Expert Level Certified Program or Project Management designation required
  • Qualifying certifications include PMI-PMP, PMI-PgMP, PMI-PfMP, AHA-CHC, IAPM-CSPM, IAPM-CSAPM, AAPM-Master Project Manager, GAQM-Certified Project Director, or qualifying alternative certifications with 8 years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated executive presence and ability to collaborate with senior and executive leaders
  • Previous expert-level project management experience in a complex environment
  • Expert-level stakeholder management and engagement experience
  • Prior financial, budgetary, and capacity management experience
  • Preferred: advanced degree in business administration, information technology, construction management, or healthcare from an accredited institution
  • Preferred: prior experience in an integrated healthcare delivery organization
  • Preferred: expertise in organizational and cultural change management
  • Preferred: 2+ years supervisory experience with direct reports
  • Ability to meet stated physical requirements, including frequent computer use and verbal communication
  • Candidates must be able to commute to an Intermountain Health care site if based in the listed eligible locations
