About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with end users, operational leadership, revenue cycle teams, and ITDS
  • Provide on-site support through rounding, assessments, and training
  • Identify efficiency opportunities and promote standardized workflows
  • Recommend system optimizations
  • Support workflow documentation, denial prevention, cash collections, estimates, and referral management
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in patient registration, scheduling, check-in/check-out, point-of-service collections, cash management, and authorizations
  • Provide direct end-user support for department improvement and education related to patient access and revenue cycle
  • Support projects for new clinics, departments, and acquisitions
  • Develop and implement strategies for training and skill development
  • Optimize and standardize scheduling, check-in, check-out, and financial service activities
  • Participate on committees, follow up on action plans, and monitor outcomes
  • Monitor quality and manage patient work queues, claim edits, referrals, and orders
  • Model organizational values through orientation, development, mentoring, feedback, rounding, and staff evaluation
  • Work with Clinic Managers to optimize and implement front-end activities
  • Liaise with medical, professional, and departmental staff regarding revenue cycle, patient access, and patient flow policies
  • Resolve patient access service and process issues
  • Enforce regulatory, compliance, and cash management requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience in a revenue cycle or patient access role
  • Ability to train and develop others
  • Ability to travel and round monthly within assigned clinics
  • Strong knowledge of the Patient Access function within a revenue cycle
  • Three (3) years of work-related experience in Patient Access and revenue cycle operations (preferred)
  • Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field from an accredited institution (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the EPIC system (preferred)
  • Patient Access Certifications (preferred)
  • Ability to see and read information, documents, and monitors and assess customer needs
  • Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity for computer use and manipulating equipment
  • Ability to drive when required
