About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment processes from diagnosis through follow-up
- Guide patients through collaborative care with medical providers and ancillary support programs
- Provide educational support throughout the care continuum
- Provide patients with information about resources and options to facilitate shared decision-making
- Provide patient and community education
- Ensure optimal patient care using evidence-based clinical best practices, appropriate staffing, technologies, and continuous improvement measures
- Participate in patient engagement efforts and monitor perceptions of care quality
- Coordinate care across the continuum, including clinical protocols and practice management guidelines
- Monitor care and serve as an expert clinical practice resource
- Monitor clinical outcomes and system issues related to quality of care
- Serve as an internal resource for staff across departments
- Contribute to program development and improvement at community, state, and national levels
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current RN licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- RNs hired or promoted into this role need to have or obtain their BSN within three years of hire or promotion
- Leadership and mentoring experience preferred
- Two years of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Pediatric RN work experience in OR or NTU at Primary Children's Hospital preferred
- Ability to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess patient needs
- Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care and accessing information
