About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist pharmacists in collecting clinical and patient information and maintaining required records
  • Use pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders for dispensing
  • Perform calculations and compound medications accurately as appropriate to the practice site
  • Obtain pharmacist supervision and accuracy checks and identify tasks requiring pharmacist verification
  • Fill and maintain medication supplies
  • Verify and monitor controlled-substance inventories
  • Support security, accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and 340B/charging management
  • Communicate with caregivers regarding responsibilities and identified concerns
  • Participate in quality and patient-safety initiatives
  • Identify potential safety hazards and escalate issues to pharmacists as appropriate
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, providers, payers, and care teams to support timely patient access to medications
  • Complete prior authorizations and resolve coverage barriers to prevent therapy delays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School or equivalent is required
  • Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice
  • Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding pharmacy practice and distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents

  • Ability to perform physical requirements including carrying, lifting, pulling/pushing, manual dexterity, seeing, standing, walking, and related duties
  • Full-time availability for 40 scheduled weekly hours with variable 8- or 10-hour shifts
  • Availability Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
