About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist pharmacists in providing safe, effective, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care
- Review patient charts to verify provider visits and refill eligibility
- Gather and review labs, monitoring parameters, and medication history
- Prepare and document refill authorization requests using pharmacy technology systems
- Ensure clinical criteria and documentation are complete before pharmacist review
- Route refill requests to pharmacists for final verification and processing
- Communicate with pharmacists and care team members about missing information and clarification needs
- Identify safety concerns or gaps in care and escalate them appropriately
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in patient records
- Collaborate with a large remote pharmacy team across care settings
- Support pharmacy services across acute, community, ambulatory, and specialty locations
- Participate in planned future cross-training with Prior Authorization and Medication Assistance teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School or equivalent is required
- Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in Utah, Colorado, Montana, or Nevada
- Current knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations and statutes
- 3 years of experience preferred
- Prior health system or retail experience preferred
- Familiarity with the top 100 most common medications preferred
- Strong computer proficiency
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and complex electronic health records
- Ability to work variable 8- to 10-hour shifts between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Sunday
- On-camera filter-free Microsoft Teams video interview required
- Onsite interviews and/or meetings may be required
