About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support healthcare applications through planning, design, implementation, maintenance, optimization, and lifecycle management
  • Provide technical support, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance for healthcare applications and technologies
  • Provide strategic guidance aligning application configuration and support with organizational goals
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects and perform project management functions
  • Gather, validate, and translate technology requirements into design and development specifications
  • Configure, test, install, implement, monitor, and maintain systems, applications, workflows, processes, and hardware
  • Document and recommend workflow changes and technical/functional designs
  • Partner with external vendors on third-party application integration, implementation, support, and troubleshooting
  • Resolve complex incidents and problems according to service levels and department standards
  • Conduct quality reviews, create remediation plans, and manage demand and resource processes
  • Mentor analysts and identify training opportunities
  • Develop best practices, standards, training materials, testing plans, and scripts
  • Configure and integrate electronic and mechanical hardware with software products
  • Develop and understand business reporting needs
  • Participate in team, project, department, workgroup, subcommittee, and hospital leadership meetings
  • Assist with project and team budget forecasting, maintenance, adjustment, justification, and approvals
  • Manage IT project and initiative portfolios where applicable
  • Track project benefits using KPIs and provide recommendations to senior leaders
  • Conduct service reviews with facility and medical group business executives where applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required in information technology, healthcare, business, or related field; additional relevant experience may substitute for lack of education upon Supervisory and HR approval
  • Eight (8) years of work experience in a healthcare setting
  • Applications experience, preferably in the stated application area
  • Epic applications certification, or ability/requirement to certify on one or more Epic applications and maintain certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel pivot tables, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Word
  • In-depth business and application knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of system analysis and operating systems, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Skills in needs assessment, documentation, problem definition, data collection, project management, resource planning, and strategic management
  • Ability to analyze industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and process documents
  • Ability to present information and respond to inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to operate computers and IT equipment
  • Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents
  • Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods
  • Scheduled availability Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
  • Participation in on-call and command center responsibilities
