About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support healthcare information technology applications through planning, design, implementation, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing support
- Provide advanced technical support, configuration, integration, and maintenance throughout application lifecycles
- Document and recommend workflow changes and technical/functional designs
- Partner with external vendors on application integration, implementation, support, and troubleshooting
- Resolve common and complex issues, incidents, and problems according to service levels and department standards
- Serve as project manager and complete project management functions for mid-sized, multi-team projects
- Plan and execute small and mid-sized application technology projects
- Mentor other analysts and contribute to best practices and standards
- Perform quality reviews of team builds
- Collaborate with peers, internal and external stakeholders, and vendors
- Follow documentation and change-management standards
- Develop training and knowledge-base materials
- Oversee configuration of hardware and software products to meet client specifications
- Develop and understand business reporting needs
- Participate in on-call and command center responsibilities
- Develop and maintain testing plans and scripts to verify system outputs and integrity
- Attend team, project, and department meetings
- Define project objectives, complete business-case documentation, and help stakeholders with ROI, benefits, KPIs, and performance measures
- Aggregate resource forecasts and roadmap projects for subcommittees and workgroups
- Forecast and map equipment, hardware, and data connections for construction and reconstruction projects
- Create cost estimates and comparisons and assist with application assessments
- Provide Capital Planning with equipment and infrastructure costs
- Lead procurement and coordination of technology equipment for construction and reconstruction projects
- Supply field teams with equipment and data-connection lists and mappings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in information technology, healthcare, business, or related field
- Alternatively, actively working toward a Bachelor's degree with nine years of professional experience
- Alternatively, four years of work experience, or actively working toward a Bachelor's degree with six years of experience in related areas
- Additional relevant experience may substitute for lack of education upon Supervisory and HR approval
- Four years of work experience, or equivalent alternative described in the posting
- Certification on one or more Epic applications and maintenance of certification required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel including pivot tables, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Word
- In-depth business and application knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of system analysis and operating systems, preferably in a hospital setting
- Ability to assess needs and determine appropriate approaches through documentation
- Problem definition and data collection skills
- Ability to interpret industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and process documents
- Ability to present information and respond to inquiries or complaints
- Knowledge of project management and control
- Ability to operate computers and other IT equipment
- Ability to read computer monitors and documents
- Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods
- Availability Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, including on-call and command center responsibilities
