About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the development and implementation of revenue cycle strategies in professional billing, follow-up, and denial management
- Coordinate with the RSC Senior Leadership team to align and optimize operational revenue management functions
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize collections, minimize cost to collect, and meet or exceed patient requirements
- Create and manage the annual operating budget
- Conduct return-on-investment analyses for capital expenditures
- Identify opportunities for savings and revenue growth
- Analyze budget variances and implement improvement initiatives
- Identify and implement new technology or enhancements to existing technology
- Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives
- Establish mechanisms to design, measure, maintain, and improve department service performance and quality
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, departmental policies, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
- Develop action plans aligned with organizational strategic initiatives and goals
- Act as champion or business owner for external vendors supporting Revenue Cycle operations
- Select and coordinate third-party vendors within assigned departments
- Monitor and analyze revenue cycle metrics
- Collaborate with senior leaders on financial goals and objectives
- Manage and develop a team of revenue cycle professionals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fifteen (15) years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience
- Ability to build strong partnerships across Managed Care, Finance, ITDS, operations, and clinical leadership
- Ability to lead teams in a large operational, healthcare, or financial environment
- Comprehensive understanding of hospital and clinic operations
- Working knowledge of hospital and clinic finance and accounting, including patient accounting principles and operations
- Extensive knowledge of the healthcare and finance environment, trends, policies, and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of information systems, vendor contracting, and patient accounting processes, including billing, collections, and reimbursement analysis
- Extensive knowledge of engagement-related strategies for creating high-performing teams and a work culture aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values
- Competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to complex business challenges
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of Epic software systems (preferred)
- Compliance knowledge regarding HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Ability to work remotely with travel as needed
