About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and lead the Medical Information function for launch and future pipeline growth
- Establish Medical Information strategy, infrastructure, content, governance, workflows, intake and triage processes, response standards, escalation pathways, and content lifecycle management
- Develop and maintain Medical Information SOPs, work instructions, training standards, and quality processes
- Define the Medical Information technology roadmap, including inquiry management, content repositories, literature surveillance, analytics, and appropriate AI-enabled tools
- Lead onboarding, integration, training, and ongoing management of the Medical Information call center vendor
- Own call center launch readiness, including systems, content, workflows, escalation pathways, safety and product complaint reporting, service levels, and business continuity
- Establish vendor training and certification processes
- Oversee complex and escalated inquiries and connect the vendor with internal scientific experts
- Establish vendor KPIs, quality monitoring, governance, audit readiness, and corrective-action processes
- Lead Medical Information content strategy and development of Standard Response Letters, custom medical responses, FAQs, and other scientific response materials
- Lead literature review, data synthesis, and responses to complex or novel unsolicited inquiries
- Support scientific congresses with inquiry coverage, reference materials, escalation planning, and post-congress content updates
- Lead development and lifecycle management of AMCP dossiers and other payer evidence resources
- Lead development and submission of evidence packages to the NCCN Drugs & Biologics Compendium
- Support evidence submissions for other oncology guidelines and clinical pathways
- Serve as a scientific reviewer in PRC/MLR/MRC
- Support post-approval long-term follow-up requirements for cellular therapies, including potential CIBMTR registry participation and postmarketing evidence activities
- Partner across Medical Affairs, Clinical, Safety, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, Market Access, HEOR/RWE, Quality, and Commercial
- Bring Medical Information expertise to launch planning, including labeling readiness, content priorities, inquiry forecasting, training, and day-one readiness
- Establish Medical Information metrics and reporting, monitor inquiry trends and service performance, and translate insights into Medical Affairs strategy
- Share insights and performance updates with Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional partners
- Build and develop the Medical Information organization, including internal talent, contractors, vendor support, medical writing, and technology capabilities
- Develop annual and longer-range plans, priorities, resource needs, and budgets
- Foster a culture of scientific quality, accountability, collaboration, and practical problem-solving
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in life sciences
- 15+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, with substantial Medical Information and/or Medical Affairs experience and increasing leadership responsibility
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent)
- Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Cell therapy experience highly desirable
- Experience supporting a U.S. product launch, particularly in an emerging or first-launch biotech environment
- Experience building or scaling Medical Information systems, processes, content capabilities, or launch-readiness infrastructure
- Experience developing Medical Information scientific content, including SRLs, custom medical responses, and FAQs
- Experience managing Medical Information call center vendors, including onboarding, training, escalations, quality, and performance oversight
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Medical Information requirements, unsolicited inquiry response, pharmacovigilance and product complaint reporting, and relevant compliance standards
- Strong scientific writing and judgment, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, balanced responses
- Strong leadership, communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced biotech environment with multiple launch-critical priorities
- Experience with payer evidence dossiers, NCCN Compendia or other oncology guideline/pathway submissions, and medical review committees
- Experience with Medical Information technology platforms, analytics, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
- Successful completion of background check, reference checks, and pre-employment drug screening where permitted by law
