About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategic development and execution of market access and health policy initiatives supporting launches and sustainable patient access to targeted TCR-based immunotherapies
- Own site-of-care and provider economic strategy, including MS-DRG adequacy, NTAP, ICD-10-PCS/CPT/HCPCS coding strategy, and acquisition models
- Shape and monitor medical benefit coverage policy across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Develop NCD/LCD strategy, medical policy criteria, prior authorization, and single case agreement pathways
- Identify and resolve reimbursement and affordability barriers across the cell therapy patient journey
- Serve as the Market Access subject matter expert for executive leadership and senior management
- Build and lead a Global Market Access organization covering pipeline, clinical development, pre-launch, approval, and commercialization
- Develop and execute market access strategies for pricing, coverage, reimbursement, distribution, and access
- Integrate payer value evidence requirements into clinical development plans and Commercial strategy
- Oversee the value access plan, including early payer insights during the FDA pre-approval information exchange period
- Engage payer organizations in negotiations to shape coverage and reimbursement policies
- Collaborate with government and commercial payers, providers, patient advocacy groups, industry partners, and internal functions
- Represent Immatics’ Market Access interests with collaboration partners
- Align with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Manufacturing on market access imperatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s scientific degree required
- 20+ years of experience within the biotechnology or innovator pharmaceutical industries with positions of increasing responsibility
- Launch experience and market building in the US required
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, pricing and reimbursement processes, health economics evidence generation needs, payer value propositions, billing and coding processes, specialty product sales, brand marketing, new product planning/lifecycle management, and regulatory landscapes
- MBA strongly preferred
- 15+ years in Market Access and Government Affairs and/or Health Policy functions
- Global market launch experience preferred
- Direct experience in cell therapy, gene therapy, or other one-time or durable therapies
- Hands-on responsibility for site-of-care strategy, provider or institutional contracting, and medical benefit coverage
- Experience with restricted or authorized treatment center networks strongly preferred
- Command of medical benefit reimbursement mechanics, including coding, coverage, and payment across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Experience collaborating with legal, compliance, medical affairs, regulatory, finance, and other cross-functional colleagues
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and/or teams and presenting to senior executives and external audiences
- Experience with US and ex-US government agencies including CMS, CMMI, FDA, and EMA
- Experience with EU HTA Regulation Joint Clinical Assessment and ATMP reimbursement pathways
- Successful small company, pre-commercialization experience highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Up to 30% domestic and international travel required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
