About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee daily program operation functions
  • Ensure service delivery and provide direct program oversight
  • Conduct periodic reviews evaluating program efficacy and adjust implementation as necessary
  • Maintain, review, and safeguard program records, including confidential information, in compliance with federal regulations and state consumer identification acts
  • Travel to community events, training, partner agency activities, and other work-related locations
  • Shop for program supplies and materials and transport program-related materials, documents, supplies, and equipment
  • Coordinate and support program activities and services for families with children ages 0–6
  • Provide on-site support at program activities and events
  • Coordinate with program staff and community partners
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment for children and families
  • Complete workplans and work-production schedules
  • Ensure implementation of processes and annual plans according to IRCO and funder policies
  • Create and draft plans and documents for review by the assistant manager
  • Contribute to the design of new processes
  • Research best practices and lessons learned to inform program planning
  • Ensure policies, contracts, and grant obligations are met and administered appropriately
  • Provide ongoing reflective supervision, training, development, and support to direct program staff
  • Monitor staff performance
  • Manage the program, staff members, and sometimes 1 to 2 casual/hourly employees
  • Support implementation, reporting, budget monitoring ($450,000+), and evaluation of the program and its staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Verification of current auto-insurance
  • Full use of an automobile during work hours
  • Pass Oregon Department of Human Services Criminal Background check
  • Obtain Community Health Workers Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and major coursework in Early Childhood and/or Social Work
  • Minimum 1-year professional leadership and early childhood experience working with multibackground staff in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and approaches in Early Childhood programming
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including experience delegating and sharing responsibilities in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of best practices in children services, early childhood developmental domains, and working with excluded populations and communities of color
  • Experience working with immigrant and refugee populations, and communities of color required
  • Understanding of supervising staff with humility and supporting staff in stressful work environments
  • Experience supporting multi-background communities, families, and staff
  • Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and approaches in Early Childhood
  • Understanding of motivating staff with a reflective approach
  • Experience with reflective practice preferred
  • Experience with Apricot 360 platform for tracking program data/outcomes preferred
  • Must be on site 1 day minimum
