About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor international purchase orders with buyers and suppliers
- Follow up on production and shipments, ensuring deadlines are met
- Schedule and monitor payments and advances to foreign suppliers
- Obtain quotes and negotiate international freight rates
- Coordinate international shipments
- Review import documentation and request corrections when necessary
- Open, organize, and monitor files with the customs broker
- Resolve documentary, tax, and operational issues
- Request and monitor the issuance of import invoices
- Coordinate the transportation and delivery of goods to the plant
- Provide support to internal teams involved in import processes
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and other partners
- Identify opportunities to improve departmental processes and controls
- Support projects related to systems, processes, and continuous improvement in Foreign Trade
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Foreign Trade, Business Administration, International Relations, or related fields
- Knowledge of import processes and procedures
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international transportation modes
- Knowledge of customs clearance and coordination with customs brokers
- Experience with or knowledge of contracting and negotiating international freight
- Knowledge of import cost calculation and analysis
- Knowledge of the fiscal classification of goods (NCM)
- Knowledge of customs and tax legislation
- Knowledge of ERP systems and Foreign Trade platforms
- Intermediate Excel skills
- English with strong written communication skills
- Ability to analyze performance indicators and improve processes
