About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with month-end closing activities
  • Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Support finance managers with reporting packs and analysis
  • Perform financial transaction reporting and discrepancy investigation
  • Support maintenance of the fixed asset register and supporting records
  • Maintain documentation relating to project expenditure and capital investments
  • Assist with policy and procedure writing
  • Maintain accurate audit trails and supporting documentation
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Assist with compliance activities relating to procurement and supplier management
  • Maintain finance system data and supplier records
  • Assist with system improvements and process efficiencies
  • Produce regular reports and data extracts
  • Support wider finance team administrative activities
  • Provide financial administration support to the finance team and wider business
  • Initially focus on LEAP transaction reporting and supporting the fixed asset accountant, with evolving responsibilities across financial reporting, business partnering, project accounting, process improvement, and wider finance activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstratable experience across fixed assets, change control, incident management and exception management
  • Previous experience in a finance administration, accounts assistant, or finance support role
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience performing reconciliations
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with financial systems or ERP platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience within transport, infrastructure, construction, engineering, or project-based organisations
  • Experience maintaining fixed asset records
  • Understanding of project accounting concepts
  • Working towards an AAT qualification or similar
  • Experience using BI
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland
  • Must be willing to travel (5%), depending on business requirements
