About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software components
  • Own significant features or services and address technical debt and stability concerns
  • Implement complex components and integrations within established architectural patterns
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Architects, Product, safety, operational, and engineering teams
  • Contribute to planning, estimation, task breakdown, and predictable delivery
  • Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies
  • Deliver work through the full development lifecycle from design through production support
  • Support production-system reliability, performance, and availability
  • Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve system resilience
  • Design for monitoring, logging, operability, and supportability
  • Participate in code reviews and improve engineering processes, tooling, and team practices
  • Ensure compliance with engineering, architectural, safety, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Support documentation and audit requirements
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong commercial experience with C# / .NET
  • Experience building and supporting distributed or cloud-based systems
  • Experience with containerised applications (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Experience with TypeScript or modern frontend frameworks
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments (e.g. Scrum)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure) (desirable)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release processes (desirable)
  • Experience with observability tools (monitoring, logging, alerting) (desirable)
  • Experience in technical leadership or mentoring roles (desirable)
  • Experience working in safety- or regulation-driven environments (desirable)
  • Technology knowledge: .NET, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, modern web frameworks, observability tooling, Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
