About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop skills to test, diagnose and repair Indra Park Air’s Air Traffic Communications product portfolio, including radios and supporting equipment
- Test, diagnose and repair electro-mechanical equipment using oscilloscopes, radio test sets and signal analysers
- Test, diagnose and repair PCBAs to component level in accordance with IPC level 2 and 3
- Safety test customer and production equipment
- Produce test and repair customer documentation
- Record symptoms, fault diagnoses and repairs in IT systems and fault databases
- Monitor labour and material costs against quoted targets and liaise with Customer Support on projected overruns
- Implement CSD actions and change notices to upgrade customer equipment
- Identify repeat failures and report trends to development engineering and supervision
- Provide technical feedback for fault root-cause analysis
- Apply 5S techniques and ensure equipment calibration and PAT certification
- Maintain job status in T-Card and ERP systems and record productive/non-productive hours
- Update Customer Services on repair status and costing
- Identify test-program inefficiencies and suggest improvements to production engineering
- Train and support production operators, technicians and technician engineers
- Report difficulties and concerns to the Supervisor
- Conduct other Product Technical Services tasks requested by the Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- BTEC National Certificate/Diploma, HNC preferred, or the equivalent qualification
- Interest in electro-mechanical componentry and products
- Thorough knowledge of analogue and digital RF principles
- Experience of fault finding on electronic units in a manufacturing environment, using appropriate test equipment and circuit diagrams
- Repair and rework hand soldering
- Ability to use own initiative
- Good communication skills
- Confident to ask questions
- Quick learner
- Enjoy hands on and practical work
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role
- In special circumstances, additional experience can be taken in lieu of qualifications
